Light Chemical Peels

Light chemical peels offer an excellent solution to fine lines across the face. Alpha and beta hydroxyacid chemical peels are common types of light chemical peels, both treating a different type of skin.

Salicylic acid is the preferred beta hydroxyacid, being ideal for pores that are clogged as with blackheads and whiteheads. Alpha hydroxyacids are better used on thickened and sun damaged skin where breakouts are less of a problem. Trained estheticians use up to 30% concentration for the chemical peels in order to ensure optimal results.

Light TCA chemical peels (including Obagi® Blue Peels) use trichloroacetic acid to more aggressively erase wrinkles and tighten the skin, minimize enlarged pores, and even pigmentation. As TCA is more aggressive in nature, recovery time is increased.
