A PRF injection is the latest in advanced skin and tissue rejuvenation. PRF injections work to smooth away the signs of aging, fine lines, and wrinkles with platelet rich fibrin (PRF). PRF injections are all-natural and contain a higher concentration of platelets than PRP.

What are PRF injections?

Platelet-rich fibrin has the natural power to heal and regenerate your body’s tissue. The PRF injection is a quick and straightforward in-office skin rejuvenation treatment and can restore lost volume that has occurred over time. Created from a small sample of your blood, PRF has a higher concentration of platelets, fibrin, and white blood cells, with essential healing properties that revitalize your skin on a cellular level.

What are the benefits of PRF injections?

  • Treatment is 100 percent natural
  • Non-invasive
  • Can be applied anywhere on the body and face
  • Improves your skin’s texture, tone, and discoloration
  • Restores volume
  • Can be combined with other treatments
  • Treatments are quick and painless

Who is a good candidate?

PRF injections may be ideal if you are looking for an all-natural, non-surgical way to address and correct lines and uneven skin tone. As we age, our skin can appear dull, unevenly toned, with wrinkles and lines appearing. Many of these changes are a result of lost fat, tissue, and declining growth factors. If you are looking to turn back the clock, platelet-rich fibrin can help you regenerate and refresh your skin’s overall appearance.

Is PRF safe?

Yes, PRF comes directly from a sample of your blood. Utilizing this natural process is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate your skin without the risk of disease and an allergic reaction.

Are PRF injections painful?

The treatment initially requires a small amount of blood to be drawn. The PRF will then be injected into your targeted treatment area. You may feel a slight pinch, but the injections are not particularly painful.

What should I expect during recovery?

The injections take only a few minutes to complete. There will be no recovery time following PRF treatments in Scottsdale. You may experience some mild swelling or redness at the injection site, but it will fade within a few days.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dear Patients:

Your safety is our number one priority. Please know that we join our community in taking advised precautions to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. For the time being we are planning on continuing practice as usual, with some additional precautions.

We have always routinely wiped down our office and patient exam chairs with medical-grade sanitizing wipes. We will expand this to include door knobs, toilet and faucet handles and will have hand-sanitizer available to you at check-in.

No staff will be allowed to come to work with a cough or fever, or if they have had contact with anyone with confirmed Coronavirus. We kindly ask for the same considerations from you. If you have any flu-like symptoms or have recently traveled, please call the office to reschedule your appointment.

We appreciate your flexibility as we will be limiting routine follow-up appointments over the next few weeks and ask patients to not bring friends and family members to their appointments to avoid the amount of patients we have in the office at one time. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please call and let us know.

Sincerely, Daniel Shapiro MD, FACS
