Paradise Valley Skin Klinic Difference

With over 95 years of combined experience, the staff at the Paradise Valley Skin Klinic™ is proud to offer Volbella injections to our clients. Helmed by leading Scottsdale plastic surgeon, Dr. Daniel Shapiro, we strive to make your aesthetic vision a reality by artfully enhancing your lips, defining your mouth, and sculpting a more attractive overall appearance.

What is Volbella?

With age, the lips lose volume, definition disappears, and wrinkles and fine lines begin to emerge. Volbella is a new, highly-effective dermal filler that is capable of plumping thinning lips and evening out superficial wrinkles around the mouth. With results that can endure up to one year, it is ideal for anyone seeking subtle lip enhancement and those looking to smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines.

  • FDA-approved
  • No downtime, recovery or incisions
  • Non-surgical lip augmentation
  • Long-lasting results

How Does Volbella Work?

Volbella harnesses the power of hyaluronic acid (HA) to subtly plump and lift aging lips. HA is a substance that is naturally found in the body. It’s responsible for maintaining moisture and softness, and giving your skin and lips a youthful look. With age, your natural supply of HA begins to diminish.

This results in volume loss throughout the face – including the mouth. Volbella contains a smaller hyaluronic acid particle than other Juvederm products allowing us to treat the fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and lips without dramatic volume increase.

What to Expect During Your Injections

Your Volbella injections will be done in the comfort of our Paradise Valley Skin Klinic™. When you arrive, our staff will guide you to your private treatment room, where you will be seated in a reclining chair while we cleanse and prep your lips.

A topical numbing crème will be applied for optimal comfort. From there, we will inject the medication at varying depths to fill in fine lines, wrinkles, and restore lost volume. The entire appointment should take about 30 minutes.

At that point, you will be free to return to work with and your normal daily routine right away without any restrictions. Most patients experience very minimal swelling. In this way, Volbella is a true “lunch-time” procedure.

The Results

Volbella is known for enhancing the lips in a way that looks natural – never artificial or overly plumped. When performed with an experienced, conservative hand, the injections have the power to:

  • Sculpt beautiful lips
  • Smooth fine lines around the mouth
  • Correct any lip asymmetry

It’s important to remember that Volbella produces temporary results. As such, you will need to undergo repeat injections about one year later to preserve your new, youthful mouth.

What Are the Side Effects?

Many of our patients enjoy their Volbella injections without experiencing any side effects. When they do occur, you may see minor bruising in the treatment area, which typically resolves in seven to nine days.

Slight swelling and pain have also been reported, though these effects usually dissipate within a few days. During your initial consultation, our medical team will talk to you about the potential risks and side effects and help you determine if this procedure is in your best interest.

Are You a Candidate?

If you want to plump thin, aging lips without surgery, Volbella may be the solution you have been looking for. During your initial consultation at our Scottsdale office, we will review your medical history, assess the appearance of your lips, and discuss your unique aesthetic goals. Based on the information collected during this appointment, we will determine your candidacy. In general, the best Volbella candidates:

  • Are at least 21 years of age
  • Want lips that look naturally voluptuous
  • Have perioral or “smokers” lines around the mouth

If you are considering refreshing your facial appearance with Volbella, schedule a consultation at our renowned Skin Klinic for one of the best lip fillers Scottsdale has to offer.
