Have you found yourself, at some point during your day, imagining what it would be like to have an athletic build? Dr. Shapiro is a world leader in precision body contouring– and can help this daydream become a reality with Hi--Definition Liposuction.

What is VASER?

Hi-Definition Liposuction is a precision body contouring solution that can help you achieve a slimmer, more chiseled build.

It is a minimally-invasive liposuction procedure that uses ultrasound waves to break up select areas of fat without harming the surrounding tissues. It removes fatty deposits that encompass groups of muscles and smooths the skin’s surface – ultimately revealing a toned physique.

The benefits of precision body contouring

When compared to traditional fat reduction procedures, there are a number of benefits of Hi-Def Lipo for our Scottsdale clients. They include:

VASER Lipo, Shapiro Plastic Surgery

Less blood loss

Because Hi-Definition Liposuction is a less traumatic procedure, patients experience minimal blood loss when compared to other options.

Refine and highlight your muscles

VASER removes superficial and deep fat, allowing Dr. Shapiro to sculpt athletic features, such as a six-pack abdomen.

Minimal pain and downtime

With VASER, Dr. Shapiro can more easily remove unwanted fat, resulting in less pain and a quick recovery period.

Skin tightening

The heating energy of the VASER procedure results in firmer skin, in addition to reduced fat.

One procedure is all it takes

Many of our Scottsdale clients are able to achieve their optimal body contouring results with just one VASER treatment.

Treat any area of the face or body

VASER is powerful enough to remove large pockets of fat and gentle enough to treat your most delicate features – including the neck and arms.

Sculpt your body – your way.

Hi-Definition Liposuction can help contour many parts of the body for our Phoenix clients, including the:

  • Abdomen
  • Chest
  • Waist
  • Back
  • Arms
  • Flanks
  • Buttocks
  • Thighs

Dr. Daniel Shapiro A world leader in VASER

Hi-Definition Liposuction was first performed in Bogota, Colombia in 2002 by Dr. Alfredo E. Hoyos. He developed the method to give his patients the athletic yet voluptuous curves they wanted – with a fast recovery and minimal downtime.

After learning about VASER during a lecture, Dr. Shapiro initiated a correspondence with Dr. Hoyos and was invited to train with him in Colombia. He then brought the VASER technique to his clients in Arizona. Today, he is one of 75 surgeons in the world to be trained in Hi-Definition Liposuction – and the only surgeon performing the procedure in the state of Arizona.

The procedure What to expect

During your consultation appointment at our Paradise Valley office, you and our team will discuss if Hi-Definition Liposuction is the right solution for you.

Hi-Definition Liposuction can be done under general or local anesthesia. During the procedure, a small VASER probe will then deliver ultrasonic waves to break down fat cells without affecting or damaging nearby tissue. Once the fat is broken down, it will be gently removed through a small tube.

The length of the procedure will depend on the number of treatment areas and the amount of excess fat you need addressed. In general, it can last anywhere from one to several hours. You will need to rest at home for about 12 hours after the procedure, followed by two to three weeks of avoiding strenuous activities.

Are you a candidate for VASER?

Dr. Shapiro and his Scottsdale staff can determine if Hi-Definition Liposuction is right for you during your initial consultation. In general, the best candidates:

  • Are at a healthy weight
  • Have an active lifestyle
  • Cannot target fat in certain problem areas
  • Feature good muscle tone

In general, this procedure is for patients who are generally fit and healthy – but have problem areas and stubborn pockets of fat that prevent them from achieving the sculpted look they desire.

What results can I expect from Hi-Definition Liposuction?

Hi-Definition Liposuction is an advanced body sculpting solution. As such, patients can expect defined, highly sculpted areas where excessive fat used to be prior to their procedure.

Many of our Phoenix patients in the past have been able to see defined abdominal etching, contoured upper arms, muscular-looking pectorals and other effectively sculpted areas.

It’s important to note that Hi-Definition Liposuction results are susceptible to future weight gain. As such, you will need to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle after your procedure to preserve your new, contoured figure.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Dear Patients,

It is with great pleasure that I announce the reopening of my practice for both surgical and non-surgical services on May 1, 2020. As per the governor Ducey's executive order on April 22, 2020, elective surgery has been allowed to proceed, with appropriate precautions taken by health care professionals to ensure continued vigilance against the spread of Covid-19.

Our office staff and the staff of Paradise Valley Cosmetic Surgery Center and Surgical Recovery Center have proactively taken necessary precautions to meet strict criterion for health providers according to the state of Arizona. These include necessary patient screening for Covid-19, strict protocols for cleaning offices and treatment rooms, adequate PPE, and continued social distancing. As before, waiting areas will have minimal capacity, and friends and family members should not accompany one into offices or treatment areas.

With great anticipation we welcome you back to the practice, and wish you all continued health and safety.

Sincerely, Daniel Shapiro MD, FACS
