We work with a large number of out-of-state patients to seamlessly coordinate your trip arrival, initial consultation, pre-op appointment and surgery all within one comfortable trip. To begin your journey, we invite you to please contact our office so we are able to introduce you to our practice and discuss in detail your surgical desires and medical history.

Once we have completed your initial phone evaluation, we will have you submit high-resolution photographs of the areas of your body that are to be evaluated for surgery as well as a completed copy of our New Patient Forms. Below are examples of the photographs we would like you to submit:

Nose Procedures

Front and side view photographs of your face as well as another frontal view with your head tilted back at an angle so we are able to see the septum and nostrils of the nose.

Front, side and back view photographs of the areas of interest. Make sure that your arms are held out to the side.

Breast Procedures

Front, oblique and side view photographs from your collar bone to your belly button. Make sure that your arms are at your side.

Facial Rejuvenation

Front, oblique and side view photographs that show your face and neck. It is best to have someone take these photographs for you and not a selfie so there is no distending or pulling of the facial skin.

Arrival

Upon arrival to Phoenix metropolitan area we will welcome you to our office for your in-person consultation with Dr. Shapiro to review our surgical plan in person and answer any last minute questions that you may have. This appointment is typically done 1-2 days prior to surgery with your pre-operative appointment to follow.

Surgery

Dr. Shapiro operates out of the Paradise Valley Cosmetic Surgery Center which is a State-Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center used exclusively for elective cosmetic surgery performed by plastic surgeons certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery. This center is located in our plaza just steps outside of our office.

Recovery

The post-op course for our out-of-town patients will depend on the type of surgery you undergo. We have an on-site surgical recovery center available to you as well as many options for concierge nurse staffing to assist with “at home care” for the duration of your stay. In general, we encourage patients to stay in town until all sutures have been removed, typically 7-10 days after surgery. In some cases dissolvable sutures may be used. Once home, we will continue to follow your recovery and healing process via telephone and email.
