Daniel I. Shapiro, MD, FACS

Dr. Daniel Shapiro is a renowned Scottsdale cosmetic Surgeon who is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and has been practicing cosmetic surgery in the Scottsdale and Paradise Valley Arizona area for over 19 years. As one of the busiest cosmetic surgeons in the Phoenix metropolitan area, he brings a wealth of experience to his practice, having personally meticulously performed thousands of aesthetic surgical procedures. His aesthetic vision and surgical expertise has made him one of the most sought after cosmetic surgeons, constantly improving and evolving techniques introduced to him during his plastic surgical residency at the prestigious New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center in New York City where he finished his formal training in 1992, after being mentored by some of the most famous and gifted cosmetic plastic surgeons in the world.

This unique exposure to extremely discriminating plastic and reconstructive surgeons, and the patients who travel the world for such expertise, left a lasting impression of both uncompromising surgical technique and compassionate patient care that Dr. Shapiro has continued to strive upon to this day. While in Manhattan, Dr. Shapiro was fortunate enough to also train at the Memorial Hospital Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he learned the most sophisticated and advanced cancer reconstructive procedures with special emphasis on breast and facial aesthetics. This extensive training, with a foundation based upon 6 years of General Surgical Residency, resulted in Dual Board Certifications in both General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which Dr. Shapiro achieved in 1990 and 1995 respectively.

Upon returning to the Phoenix metropolitan area in 1992, Dr, Shapiro initially performed a combination of post-cancer reconstructive surgery, post-traumatic reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. His continued desire to master facial, breast and body cosmetic surgery techniques led him to foster relationships with other gifted cosmetic surgeons in Los Angeles and New York to bring the most innovative, yet proven surgical techniques to his patients in the Scottsdale / Paradise Valley area. This expertise motivated Scottsdale Healthcare in 1993 to appoint Dr. Shapiro to assemble and lead a multi-discipline team to treat a Bosnian war victim transferred from war-torn Bosnia to Scottsdale Healthcare for facial reconstruction following a sniper bullet injury to the face.

After multiple complex reconstructive surgeries, this patient returned home with renewed confidence and optimism, and was able once again to interface as a complete person. With similar empathy, Dr. Shapiro has also traveled to Colombia in South America with “Heal The Children” to donate his services to those unfortunate enough to suffer from congenital deformities and traumatic injuries without exposure to adequate health care.

With the experience of many thousands of cosmetic surgery procedures, Dr. Shapiro has continued to tailor his Scottsdale area practice, specializing in aesthetic/cosmetic surgery of the face, nose, breast and body.
