Breast Augmentation
Breast Augmentation is the placement of either saline or silicone gel breast implants above or beneath the pectoralis muscle to enhance breast size and achieve symmetry. Women can easily go from an A-cup to a full C-cup breast or more, with the breast augmentation yielding firmer, fuller breasts. Generally by looking at the position of the nipple relative to the inframammary crease (the crease under the breast), one can determine whether they are a candidate for breast augmentation. If the nipple is above this crease, generally you are a good candidate for breast augmentation. If the nipple is level with this crease, you are not an ideal candidate, however, a large implant can increase the size and may lift the breast so there is less droopiness, the breast implant indirectly lifting the nipple. If your nipple is below the crease, generally people need some type of breast lifting procedure combined with the breast augmentation.
