PV Skin Klinic Teams Up with Clarisonic in Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To honor the American Cancer Society’s dedication to creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays, we’re partnering with Clarisonic to contribute to the American Cancer Society through the sales of commemorative pink Clarisonic Mia facial scrubbers.

For every “miracle scrubber” sold at Paradise Valley Skin Klinic during the month of October, Dr. Shapiro will donate 20% of the sale to the American Cancer Society. Clarisonic is also donating a portion of the Mia sales for October.

Thanks in large part to the work of the American Cancer Society, 11 million cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday this year! If you or a member of your family has been affected by breast cancer, remember that all of us at Dr. Shapiro’s office are right behind you in your fight.

We’d also like to remind you of the importance of monthly self-exams. Taking a few minutes to do a breast self-exam at least once a month can make a lifetime of difference. Nearly 70% of all breast cancer is found through self-exams. With early detection, the 5-year survival rate is 98%. If you find a lump, schedule an appointment with your doctor immediately, but don’t panic. Eight out of 10 lumps are not cancerous. For additional peace of mind, call your doctor whenever you have concerns.
